The University of Rochester School of Nursing is currently accepting applications for its Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) fast-track program. The current application deadline is July 1, 2023. Graduating students will qualify for and prepare to pass the NCLEX-RN National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses.
The University of Rochester ABSN program awards a fully-accredited nursing degree in just 12 months or 24 months depending upon the curriculum you chose. The 12-Month ABSN nursing program offers a full-time curriculum option designed to help non-nurses quickly enter the nursing profession. The 24-Month ABSN nursing program allows non-nurses to study part-time while they work or balance other commitments.
An Accelerated BSN nursing degree is designed for students who have completed a bachelor degree in another field and want to become a Registered Nurse (RN). Accelerated BSN or Fast-Track BSN nursing programs help students to complete their academic requirements faster than in a traditional bachelor degree in nursing program.
University of Rochester School of Nursing ABSN program length is 12 months full-time or 24 months part-time with an average graduation rate of 96%.
Admitted students will be required to complete 49 nursing credits and at least 700 clinical hours at the University of Rochester Medical Center campus in Rochester, NY. Upon completion, nursing students will earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Rochester. To obtain their RN license, graduating students must then take and pass the NCLEX-RN exam.
To apply for the University of Rochester Accelerated Bachelor in Nursing Program, students must have previous earned a bachelor degree in a major other than nursing. Students can start the program three times per year in the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Application deadlines are about 6 months prior to the start of each semester, March 1, July 1, and November 1, as examples of application deadline dates each year.
