The nursing shortage has not hit Missouri like it has the rest of the nation, but the extensive health care system within the state means there are plenty of opportunities for nurses, who are forecasted to see nearly a 19% increase in job openings through 2012.
Known as the Gateway to the West, Missouri's historic position as the starting point to new lives and opportunities is celebrated with St. Louis' Gateway Arch, which spans 630 feet over the Mississippi River and is the tallest monument in the United States.
