Arkansas has four moderate seasons, with long spring and fall seasons bringing prolonged pleasant weather. Little Rock, the state capital, receives only about four inches of frozen precipitation per year. Arkansas has lots of recreation opportunities, especially hiking and camping. The mighty Mississippi River borders its east side.

The state has a number of different nursing and health care degree programs. Four-year colleges and universities offer comprehensive nursing programs, while tech schools and community colleges can help you get specific certifications or continuing ed requirements done quickly. Most programs require students to complete clinical studies, either at the university's public clinic or at area clinics, hospitals, and other resident care centers. This valuable experience will help prepare nursing students for the real world, and it gives them important networking opportunities.
