Several initiatives have been made by the Indianapolis government in recent years to increase Indianapolis' appeal as a destination for arts and culture. The city has designated several areas as "Cultural Districts": Indiana Avenue, Broad Ripple Village, The Canal & White River State Park, Fountain Square, Mass Ave, and the Wholesale District. Additionally, the city is very well known for its sports atmosphere, mainly hosting the Indianapolis 500. Indianapolis is a thriving city and should have a particular need for good nurses in coming years. Programs of study are plentiful and wide-ranging.
